How happy are you?

Celebrating its sixth anniversary, International Day of Happiness 2018 takes place on 20 March. But what is it?

This fantastic campaign is a global celebration coordinated by Action for Happiness, a non-profit movement of people from 160 countries.

In recent years, more people are recognising that social progress isn't simply about growing the economy; it should also be about increasing human happiness and improving their overall wellbeing. And so, 20 March is the annual International Day of Happiness and all 193 United Nations member states have adopted a resolution calling for happiness to be given greater priority. And we couldn't be more supportive of the campaign!

Action for Happiness’ 'Ten Keys to Happier Living' research states we should 'live life mindfully'. For all those times you've felt as though there must be more to life, know that there is – you just have to stop and look for it. Learning to be mindful can significantly benefit your wellbeing. Being more mindful enables us to stop fretting about the past, or worrying about the future, so we can live each day to its fullest.

If you'd like to become more mindful but are unsure of where to start, pick up a copy of mindful journal, That Was Now, which guides you through a journey to living in the moment. With a selection of affirmations, the journal gives you a unique opportunity to transform the way you think and feel.
